• Oregon: Mitchell: Hiked a long Strawberry Mountain Wilderness loop east of John Day and hiked through the Smith Rock State Park near Bend where rock climbers climb. (10/21/06 - 10/22/06)
• Oregon: Mitchell: Stayed at the Oregon Hotel and took hikes along the John Day River and through the John Day Fossil beds. (10/14/06 - 10/15/06)
• Oregon: The Dalles for Aunt Ester's 100th birthday party. Met several relatives from Grandma's sister's side of the family I hadn't met before. (10/4/06)
• Washington: Levenworth, hiking Icicle Ridge from Steven's Pass with Rose. We took the bus to Stevens pass from Leavenworth and were planning four days but got snowed out and very wet. Some hunters gave us a ride back to Leavenworth from a forest service road. (9/15/06 -9/16/06)
• Georgia: AT Hike from Amicalola Falls National Park to the Fontana Dam, 170 miles. Stayed at wonderful Hike Inn near Fontana. (9/1/06 - 9/10/06)
• Wyoming: Winds River Range, about 85 miles. I got sick. (8/12/06 - 8/17/06)
• Climbed Mount St Helens in horrible conditions. I was one of the few who made it to the top today. It was freezing and zero visibility. (7/30/06)
• Washington: Mount Rainier but cut short because got two flat tires and didn't have two spares. (7/22/06 - 7/23/06)
• Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, & Honduras: Highlights were visiting Punta Gorda Belize again after 20 years, seeing the island of Roatan in Honduras, seeing Copan Honduras, visiting Antigua for the first time, seeing Tikal again, and walking the beach and city at Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. • Ohio: Columbus for Jan's sister Raeanne's marriage to Robert and to visit with Jan. (6/23/06 - 6/25/06)
• Washington: Port Townsend to visit my Father for Father's Day. Road on Howard and Susie's boat and had clam chowder. (6/17/06 - 6/18/06)
• Washington: Port Townsend with Deb and her son, Nick, to visit my father, clam dig, watched "This Is Spinal Tap", etc.(5/27/06 - 5/28/06)
• Arizona and Texas: Tucson to visit Jan and a road trip to see Tombstone, Bisbee, the Chiricahua wilderness, Wilcox, and where she studies at Diamond Mountain. On Monday, 2/20 I visited the Sonora Desert Museum and received a call that my Uncle Bob had passed. I drove to Glen Rose Texas arriving the night of 2/21 attended events on Wednesday and Thursday, 2/22 and 2/23 before driving back to Pheonix and flying home Friday morning 2/24. (2/18/06 - 2/24/06)

• On May 21st I set a personal best, walking 50 miles on the Wildwood trail (mile 0, the zoo, to mile 25, past Germantown road, and back). Very sore and not something I plan to repeat soon but nice to know I can walk that far if I have to. The trek took about 18 hours with the last 3 miles taking 2 hours.
